What's New

Things move fast. So do we. Keep up to date here.

Closeout Packages

Closeout packages are now available from the Closeout feature. Teams can select the data types they want to include and generate an official closeout package .zip file with a single click.

Document Links and Downloads

Documents can now be opened from direct links and shared with other users who already have access. Teams can copy a link to a specific file or folder, see file sizes in the table, download from row actions, and rename folders without losing their place.

RFI Distribution Workflow

RFIs now close and distribute with a guided workflow similar to submittals. Teams can choose question and response attachments, pick recipients, review the email, and redistribute closed RFIs with a clear record of what was sent.

External Draft RFI and Submittal Workflows

Projects can now let external collaborators create limited draft RFIs and submittals. Default managers keep new drafts routed to the right person, and managers get notified when a subcontractor starts a new RFI or submittal draft.

Submittal Revision Rows

Submittal tables now include revision rows and a current-revision filter. Teams can review historical revisions when they need the full record, or filter back to only current revisions for a cleaner working list.

Budget Report Improvements

Budget reports now support including or excluding pending change orders from totals, with excluded values shown in italics when active. Teams also get Budget Code labels, fewer unnecessary zero cells, and a tighter layout for reviewing more financial detail with less noise.

Custom Payment Application Views

Subcontractor pay applications can now be customized before export. Teams can choose the columns and line item details they need, save the view for reuse, and generate cleaner payment application PDFs for owner, lender, or internal review.

Saved RFI and Submittal Grid Views

RFI and submittal tables can now save customized grid views. Teams can keep the filters, columns, and layout they use most often, then return to that view instead of rebuilding the same table setup each time.

Actual Costs Report

Projects now have an Actual Costs Report for subcontractor invoices and receipts. Teams can review actual cost activity by company, source, status, cost code, date, or month, making it easier to understand where posted costs are coming from.

Improved Schedule Gantt View

Schedule Gantt views now have clearer controls for columns and zoom levels, with smoother rendering for large schedules. Teams can move between hour, day, week, month, and year views to review schedule detail at the right level.

Spec Book Downloads

Spec books can now be downloaded directly from the spec viewer. Teams reviewing specifications can keep a local copy, share the full book outside Constructable, or hand off the original document without leaving the spec review workflow.

Budget Grouping by Cost Code

Budget reports now separate the default Cost Code + Cost Type grouping from a Cost Code-only view. Teams can switch to the level of detail they need, making it easier to review budgets with or without cost type breakdowns.

Attach Existing Photos to Punch List Items

Punch list items can now attach photos that already exist in Constructable. Teams can reuse project photos from the media picker, keep issue documentation connected, and avoid downloading and re-uploading the same field images.

Submittal Template Submission Stages

Submittal approval templates can now include a request submission stage. Teams can save templates that start with contractor submission and then continue into the approval workflow, keeping repeated submittal setup closer to the way the work actually flows.

Expanded Email Activity Tracking

Email Activity now captures more Constructable-sent emails, including contract emails, with searchable delivery status, sender, recipient, and project details. Teams can audit email history from one report instead of checking individual records one at a time.

More Granular Commitment Permissions

Commitment permissions are now split more clearly across prime contracts, vendor commitments, change events, and change orders. Organization admins can tune role access around the financial work each user should see or update without relying on one broad commitment permission.

Publish and Unpublish Schedules

Schedules can now be published and unpublished. Only user roles with access to create and update schedules can view unpublished schedules, so teams can prepare schedule changes privately and share them when they are ready.

Improved View of User Roles and Permissions

Organization admins now have a grid-based permissions view for roles, making it easier to see how user roles compare for each permission.

Schedule Notifications

Schedules now support project notifications. Teams can subscribe to new schedule updates, follow published and archived schedule activity, and jump back to the right schedule from their notification feed instead of checking the schedule manually for changes.

In-App What's New page

Constructable now has a What's New page inside the app. Users can review recent product updates from the main menu to see which updates are new to them and open the public What's New web page to review all prior releases.

Attach Existing Photos to RFIs

RFIs can now attach photos that already exist in Constructable. Teams can pick project photos from an album-style selector, include them in RFI descriptions or responses, and review image attachments as thumbnails without re-uploading files.

Bid Invite Magic Links

Bid invitations now use magic links to bring bidders directly into the right bid package. External bidders can open their invite, complete any required verification, and land in the bidding workspace with less sign-in friction.

Bid Management Grouping and Activity

Bid package views can now be grouped by scope or trade, making large bidder lists easier to review. Received bids also surface latest activity so teams can spot recent bidder updates and prioritize follow-up faster.

Submittal Approval Templates

Projects can now save reusable approval templates for submittals. Set up stages, approvers, due day defaults, and approval requirements once, then apply the template to draft submittals instead of rebuilding the same workflow each time.

Drawing-Linked Submittals

Submittals can now be created and reviewed directly from the drawing viewer. Teams can pin submittals to plan locations, switch between draft, open, and done submittals on a sheet, and keep submittal context tied to the drawings it affects.

Submittal Distribution Controls

When closing and distributing a submittal, teams can now choose recipients, review attachments, edit the notification email, or close without sending an email. The distributed submittal keeps a record of the message when one is sent, making the closeout trail easier to review.

Project Dashboard Notes

Project dashboards now include a rich text notes block. Teams can keep high-level reminders, project context, or internal notes visible from the dashboard instead of tracking them separately.

Celsius Weather Display

Users can now choose Fahrenheit or Celsius for weather values in their personal settings. Daily logs, weather reports, and dashboard weather cards will follow that preference, making project weather easier to read for every team.

Bulk Create Submittals from Specs

Spec sections can now be selected and turned into submittal drafts in bulk. Teams can choose the package, responsible contractor, manager, subscribers, and approval workflow once, then create a batch of draft submittals ready for review.

Email Activity and Editing

Project emails now use a consistent in-app editor, and sent email history can be reviewed from a new Email Activity report. Teams can adjust recipients, subject, body, merge fields, and attachments before sending supported emails, then audit what was sent later by date range, sender, recipient, subject, or project.

Drawing Index Return State

Drawing lists now remember where you were when you open a sheet and come back. Search text, expanded disciplines, view mode, and scroll position are restored so teams can review large drawing sets without losing their place.

Submittal Numbering Controls

Projects can now customize how submittal numbers and revisions appear. Teams can choose whether to show spec section numbers, use numeric or lettered revisions, and decide whether the original submittal starts at the first revision.

Flexible RFI Status Changes

RFIs can now be moved between Draft, Open, and Closed without running the full open, distribute, or close workflows. This gives teams a faster way to clean up status mistakes or close simple RFIs while keeping the formal workflow available when it is needed.

Sign Commitments from the Commitment Page

Subcontractors can now review and sign commitment documents directly from the commitment page when it is their turn to sign. The contract status block shows the next signing action in context, reducing the need to hunt through email links.

Broader Project People Selection

People with project access now appear in assignment, subscriber, approver, and mention pickers even if they were not manually added to the project team. This makes it easier to include organization-level users who can already view the project.

Directory Notes

People profiles in the global directory now include general notes. Teams can capture internal context about organization members or company contacts directly on the person's profile, keeping important relationship details easy to find.

Connect AI Tools to Constructable

Users with MCP access can now connect approved AI clients to Constructable and review which organizations the client can access before completing the connection. Access follows live Constructable permissions, including read and write capability by organization.

Takeoff PDF and CSV Exports

Takeoffs can now be exported as PDF or CSV files. Teams can share measured quantities, categories, and supporting drawing context outside Constructable for estimating, review, and handoff.

Bulk Subcontractor Pay Application Downloads

Subcontractor pay applications can now be downloaded in bulk by billing period. Instead of opening each invoice one at a time, teams can generate a package of pay application PDFs with the related attachments and lien waivers.

Better Commitment Invoice Visibility

Commitments now show more invoice context, including total invoiced and remaining retention. The invoices block is also easier to scan, helping teams understand payment progress without leaving the commitment.

Clearer Invoice Import Tracking

Invoice import runs now show the company, total amount, and billing period for each upload. This makes it easier to review imported invoices, spot the right run, and follow up when a batch needs attention.

Drawing Area Deletion

Drawing areas can now be deleted from project settings when they are no longer needed. Teams can clean up outdated or accidental drawing areas without asking support to remove them.
