Retain and regenerate Closeout packages

Generate a new package whenever the source records or handoff scope changes, because an existing ZIP never updates itself.

Best for: Records administrators · Outcome: A traceable final handoff.

• Keep prior generated entries as evidence of when packages were prepared.
• Generate a new package after source changes; an existing ZIP does not update.
• Use a narrower selection when producing a supplemental handoff.
• Preserve the delivered ZIP and its delivery record in the organization's approved records system.

The Closeout page does not provide an archive or delete action for generated package entries. If you generated the wrong package, leave it as historical context and generate a corrected one.
