Mobile work follows the same project
Work you create on a phone, tablet, or desktop belongs to the same organization, project, records, and permission model. When you have a connection, Constructable sends accepted changes and brings your teammates' updates into the current project.
On a smaller screen, you may find controls in a header, drawer, bottom toolbar, or overflow menu. If a control is missing, the current platform may not support it; the cause is not always your permissions.
Resilient field photo capture
In the native app, you can capture a photo with the camera or choose one from your device library. The app keeps pending media in a local upload queue while it sends the files. A photo can appear in your current workflow before the transfer finishes, and an interrupted transfer can retry.
Pending does not mean safely shared. Keep the app open when instructed, wait for uploads to finish, and verify important media in its album or connected record. If you are documenting a concealed condition before the crew closes a wall, confirm the photo finished uploading before you treat it as shared evidence. Signing out or removing local data can discard unfinished local work; closing the app or losing connectivity can delay an upload.
Drawings prepared for weak connectivity
In the native app, use Store on device for the drawing revisions you will need during a site walk. You can preview and view those selected revisions if your connection drops.
Storage applies to each sheet and revision separately. It does not automatically store every drawing, connected record, comment, search result, or future revision. After a new revision is published, reconnect and store the current revision before you rely on it offline.
What this means for you
- Use the native app when you need camera capture, mobile push, or selected drawings stored on your device.
- Let pending photos finish before you leave the workflow or treat them as shared evidence.
- Store and test critical drawing revisions while you are online, before entering a low-connectivity area.
- Reconnect regularly so your uploads can finish and project information can refresh.
- Use desktop web for drawing administration, large bulk actions, and detailed comparison workflows.
Connectivity and platform limits
The whole Constructable Platform does not work offline. Search, AI, connected drawing records, many file operations, and actions that Constructable must confirm need a connection. Information already available on your device may remain visible, but it may not include your teammates' recent work.
The native drawing viewer does not provide new-tab or Split View actions, but overlay comparison remains available. Some bulk and administrative controls are available only on desktop. Review the exact platform matrix in Drawings platform and feature availability.
Before field work
- While you are online, open the correct project and allow current information to load.
- Store the latest revisions of critical sheets in the native app.
- Open each stored sheet once to make sure it loads.
- Confirm camera, photo-library, and notification permissions as needed.
- After field work, stay connected until pending uploads finish, then verify the resulting records.
