Before you prepare several contracts, review Organization Settings so the signing order, email wording, and reusable templates match your organization's process:

  • Document Signing Settings
  • Signing order: whether the other party or your organization signs first
  • Default email wording and signing behavior offered by the settings
  • Contract templates

Templates can save time by providing reusable document content, fields, approvers, copy-recipient defaults, and approval-request email wording. In Step 1, use Choose a Template and Manage templates. Treat the template as a starting point, and verify the actual PDF, project users, recipients, fields, and email content every time.

Set organization defaults before preparing many contracts. Updating defaults does not rewrite an active signing request.
