Comparing sheets and revisions with Split View
Split View places two sheets or revisions next to each other, so you can compare them while keeping both drawings readable.

Open Split View
From the sheet or revision selector:
- Find the second sheet or revision.
- Choose Open in Split View.
- Resize the panels as needed.
You can compare two revisions of one drawing or two different sheets.
Work with the panels
The active panel is the one receiving your navigation and editing actions. Move the pointer into a panel before using shortcuts or tools.
Split View controls let you:
- Swap the primary and secondary sheets
- Open a panel in a new browser tab
- Close the secondary panel
- Navigate each panel's sheet or revision
The panels begin with independent cameras. Use the controls between them to Lock Views at the same camera position or Sync Movement so pan and zoom changes carry to the other panel. Linked movement works best when the source sheets share a similar size, orientation, and origin.
Opening a revision in a separate browser tab is a web-only action. The native app uses single-sheet navigation on both phones and tablets. Mobile web on a sufficiently large tablet may expose Split View when there is enough room.
When Split View is the right tool
Use Split View when:
- You want to read both sheets normally.
- The sheets have different layouts.
- You're comparing a plan with a related detail.
- You want independent markup context on each side.
Use an overlay instead when the sheets represent the same geometry and you want differences placed directly on top of one another.
Limitations
Sheet scale calibration is unavailable while Split View is open. Close the secondary panel before setting or correcting a sheet's scale.
On smaller screens, Split View may be hidden or replaced by normal sheet navigation. For the best comparison workspace, use desktop web or a larger tablet layout.
