Drawing permissions at a glance

Your drawing access is separate from your access to workflows connected to a drawing.

• View drawings allows a project member to open published drawings, search, star sheets, and use permitted viewer features.
• Change drawing sets, drawing areas, and drawing pages, publish and unpublish drawings is the permission used in this guide when we say drawing-management access.
• Comments, Topics, RFIs, Submittals, Punch Lists—shown as Quality Lists and Quality Items in parts of the viewer—and Takeoffs have separate permissions.
• Entering Takeoff mode requires permission to add or change takeoffs, not only permission to view them.

Default roles provide a starting point, but each project's permission settings determine what someone can do. If one drawing action is missing, adjust the specific permission when possible instead of changing the person's broader role.
