Use folder sharing to control who can open the folder and everything inside it.

Best for: Document managers and project administrators · Requires: Documents management access and membership in the organization that owns the project.

  1. Open the folder.
  2. Select Edit Shared With.
  3. Choose:
    • Only me to keep access with you and named people.
    • Entire organization to include everyone in your organization and optional outside people.
    • Entire project to include everyone who already has project access.
  4. Add specific people where available.
  5. Select Update Folder Sharing.

You cannot simply remove the folder creator or access inherited from a parent. If the parent is shared with the entire project, you cannot make a child folder private. Because a sharing change also updates every folder and file below it, review the full folder tree before you broaden access.

Remember that sharing grants access; copying a folder or file link does not. Anyone opening a live link still needs permission.
