Quick reference
Troubleshooting Documents and Specs
Use Retry from the failed-upload message. If only one file repeatedly fails, verify that it opens locally and upload it again. Wait until current uploads finish before trying to move or rename their folders.
A folder or file is missing
- Confirm that you are in the correct project and parent folder.
- Ask whether the folder is shared with you, your organization, or the entire project.
- If you opened a copied link and see Access denied, the link did not grant permission; ask the folder manager to update sharing.
- Wait briefly after a sharing change. The product notes that updates may take up to one minute.
An upload failed
Use Retry from the failed-upload message. If only one file repeatedly fails, verify that it opens locally and upload it again. Wait until current uploads finish before trying to move or rename their folders.
A file will not preview
Not every file type has an in-app preview. Use Download to open it in its normal application.
The Specs page is empty
Check whether a spec book is still importing or awaiting review, whether it was published, and whether its sections have page boundaries. Regular viewers see published content.
A Specs action is missing
Check Specs management permission, then use desktop web if you are trying to make broad structure changes. Publishing, unpublishing, deleting, and editing divisions or sections are management actions.
A download or share package is taking time
Folder and selected-content packages are generated before download or sharing. Keep the progress dialog open until it reports that the package is ready. If generation fails, retry with a smaller selection and contact support with the project, folder or spec book, and selected content.
