Each Takeoff mark belongs to the item and drawing revision that are active when you place it.

Best for: Estimators working from published drawings · Before you begin: Verify the active item, revision, and scale.

  1. Open the Takeoff Set and select an item.
  2. Navigate to the correct published sheet and revision.
  3. For quantity items, place markers at each counted location.
  4. For linear or area items, verify or calibrate the scale, then trace the work.
  5. Finish multi-point measurements before changing tools or sheets.
  6. Review current, sheet, and drawing totals as you work.

For the complete drawing-viewer procedure, including calibration, mobile controls, revision behavior, and measurement cautions, use Measuring and calibrating drawings. Takeoff marks are not automatically carried to a new drawing revision.
