Set up a clear Takeoff structure before you place marks so your measured work stays easy to review.

Best for: Estimators · Requires: Takeoffs write permission.

  1. Open Preconstruction → Takeoffs.
  2. Select New Takeoff Set and give it a specific name.
  3. Open the set in the drawing viewer.
  4. Add categories for major groups of work.
  5. Add items under each category.
  6. For each item, choose Linear Feet, Area, or Quantity, then set its color, optional multiplier, and optional unit cost.

For area items, choose square feet or square yards. A height/depth multiplier converts linear or area totals into a multiplied unit. Quantity items use circle, square, or cross markers.

An item's unit cannot be changed after creation. Duplicate the item when you need a similar item with a different setup; choose whether the duplicate should also copy the original measurements.
