  • View bids allows access to bids. Its access level can be All Bids or Only bids I'm invited to.
  • Respond bid requests sent to me controls bidder responses.
  • Invite new bidders, add and change bid packages, message bidders is the bid-management permission. Administrators and managers have it by default; project permissions remain the final authority.
  • View takeoffs and Add new takeoffs, make changes to existing takeoffs, share takeoffs are separate permissions. Administrators, managers, and employees have both by default.
  • The preconstruction menu is available when the organization's Project Management package is enabled. Bid Management appears to users who can manage bids; Bidder Portal appears when the user's company has a bid on the project.
  • Creating a commitment from a received bid also depends on the Financial package and commitment permissions. See Constructable Financials Help Articles.
  • Bid Management, Bidder Portal, and Takeoffs have web and native layouts. Dense bidder grids, filtering, bulk selection, PDF exports, and detailed drawing work are easiest on desktop web.
  • Takeoff work requires project drawings. A Takeoff Set can be created before drawings exist, but it cannot open into useful drawing work until the project has drawing pages.
