Statuses, ball-in-court, and visibility
Ball-in-court tells you who is responsible for the next action; it is separate from the RFI's status. While an RFI is Open, you can assign it to respondents or return it to the manager. No one can respond after the RFI is Closed or Cancelled.

- Draft: You can prepare and edit the question before it enters the active workflow. Drafts do not have an active RFI number.
- Open: Respondents can answer the question, and the RFI has an active number.
- Closed: The question is complete. You can include distribution when you close it.
- Cancelled: The RFI has been deleted and no longer appears with active work.

With restricted RFI access, you can see non-draft RFIs and drafts created by your company. Full read access lets you see all RFIs. Receiving a notification does not give you permission to open a record.
