Forecast overrides let the team replace a calculated expectation with an informed project forecast.
Best for: Project managers and controllers · Requires: Financial-management access.
Before overriding:
- Review current commitments, COs, invoices, and Receipts.
- Decide whether the override represents Forecast to Complete or Forecast at Complete.
- Enter a note explaining the assumption.
- Save and confirm the resulting Forecast at Completion.
Use an override for information that existing records cannot yet show, such as an expected cost that is not ready for a formal CO. Do not use it to hide a known transaction that belongs in a Commitment, Change Event, or Receipt.
Forecast at Completion estimates final cost. It does not forecast the timing of cash receipts or payments.
